Morland Mews is a private road in Islington, London. Our clients required all elevations of the road and it is not disclosed as of yet what they needed the survey for. However, the elevations and site survey that we produced could be used for extensions, renovations, record keeping or even re-purposing the buildings. An existing BIM survey is the starting point to any architectural or construction project.
It was an enjoyable survey to model up in Revit. We shared the workload between two of our Revit Technicians and worked from a coordinated project file. The point cloud file size was very large so we decided to split up the road and buildings into blocks that were much easier for Revit to process. Each block has it's own Revit model that links back to the co-ordination file so that when they're all pulled into the same document the model looks complete.
As there wasn't much change in the materials across the buildings on the road we found that adding materials, although not originally asked for, added a nice finishing touch to the completed survey.
