The on site methodologies we've developed have enabled us to completely laser scan a building faster than a team of surveyors collecting data traditionally using total stations, distos or tape! Not only have we improved on the speed of the data capture but the information collected is far superior and much more accurate; rather than 10 – 20 measurements in a room, we collect millions as standard.

As we collect all of our data using laser scanning methods, it allows us to produce our Revit models extremely quickly and accurately, as we know we can rely on the information we have collected.

We produce all of our models in Revit manually from the point cloud data, by doing so we can ensure that any intelligence required by the client is built into the model from day one. whether it is the naming convention of the families and their parameters, or something as simple as establishing correct floor and storey levels and project base point and orientation.

We can and have produced Revit Survey models from point cloud data to any level of detail, from simple generic building elements for net floor areas, to high level detail for conservation. We ensure that all of our clients understand the benefits/disadvantages of all levels of details required. High Levels of detail can be extremely time consuming to produce and can heavily impact on computer performance, but may be necessary for interior design, conservation recording or visualisation. Low level detail can be a great stating point for feasibility studies before further information is worked into the model, it will also allow for quick navigation of the model and in comparison is much cheaper to produce. To allow the survey to fit the budget, it is essential that the needs of the model are realised to save on either duplicated efforts, or over modelling. We can help you establish the level of detail you require if you are fairly new to BIM.

We do tend to find that our clients like to hit the ground running knowing that the existing phase has already been produced. However, if you prefer to produce your own existing BIM ready models then we are more than happy to issue you with the Point Cloud data in the format you need, to work directly from the data yourselves. We are also happy to guide you through the process or offer training should you need to produce the As-Existing BIM yourself.
