As it’s now summer (despite all the rain), things have gone a little quiet with respects to the use of our laser scanners. Due to this, we have been given the perfect opportunity to offer sample data to potential new clients. If you have been considering the use of laser scanning to produce a point cloud survey of a project or have been wondering about the implications of PAS 1192-2:2013 regarding the use of point clouds to prove the accuracy of as-built information, then please feel free to contact me.

I am proposing to meet a limited number of people on site or at their office with a laser scanner to collect data of a designated test area, you’ll get to see how quickly we can survey an environment first hand and ask any questions you have to either myself or one of our senior surveyors. We will then register and index the collected laser scan data to a point cloud made up of millions of measurements and give you access to the raw data to manipulate and analyse the data in Recap, taking advantage of the panoramic 360-degree real view tour. We will then also reverse engineer a small portion of the area in Autodesk Revit directly from the point cloud to show you the level of detail we can work to and how intelligent the BIM-ready models we create are.

We are still only quite a small, but growing company, so we can only offer a limited number of these “free trials”. please feel free to contact us or email me directly at j.pegg@solidpoint.co.uk if you have any questions or would like to arrange for us to show you the workflow that could save your projects time and long term cost.
